Visual Eyes Media have had experience working with a range of international architectural practices and high profile developers including Foster and Partners, John McAslan and Partners, Land Securities, Derwent Valley, Crown Estates and NCP. These clients have utilised our skill sets to produce captivating animations, vibrant photorealistic still images and enlightening multimedia presentations.
We believe that the quality of our images and animations speak for themselves and that in each case, whether it be a marketing image for a high profile multi-million pound project or local planning consultation image for a smaller development, the individuality and ethos of each scheme is promoted by our images. This understanding of the images and projects that they portray can only come about by the continual dialogue that occurs between Architect/designer/client and artist. From the initial briefing to the final sign-off and throughout the lifecycle of the project you will be kept up to date with the progress of the image with interim submissions. This workflow invites you the designer to make comment and allows for adjustments in design whilst keeping us the artists informed as to your aspirations and expectations for the image.
We understand that time is a major issue when trying to hit deadlines for planning, competition or client submissions. Continued investment in the most up to date hardware and software is a commitment that we value and one that we believe will allow us to keep producing visuals of the highest quality in the shortest time.
All of our operators work on Dual Xeon Quad Core, and are backed up by a render farm with the equivalent power of 250GHz /hr. In addition to this we utilise the power the latest versions of 3DS Max 2012, Photoshop CS5, Combustion 4 and other relevant software.
We also utilise the open architecture of several of these applications to integrate bespoke scripts and plug-ins to streamline workflows further.
Animations are one of the fastest growing markets with in the industry. With the continued development in hardware and software an animation that may have taken months to produce only a couple of years ago can now be produced in just weeks. The style of animation can vary dependent on time, budget, building type and most importantly what messages needs to be put across.
Simple hidden line animations are quick to produce and can say a lot about a scheme in the early stages of a design. Monochromatic animations are useful in he design development stages as they can be readily updated to reflect the current stage. Realistic lighting and material solutions are very useful for planning hearings informing everyone what is at stake. Live actions footage and aerial filming add extra human interaction to an animation for the purposes of marketing.
Photomontage is usually associated with placing a proposed model into an existing scene that has been previously photographed. The workflow is similar to that of the CG Photo real images with regard the modelling and materials. Beyond that however the techniques used are somewhat different.
Either a photograph has been taken or needs to be taken; this image needs to be camera matched within Max. The lighting levels and colour need to be matched to the photograph. Clues need to be taken from the photo and used within the model. Once positioned materialed, lit and rendered the images are taken into Photoshop where the model is merged into the photograph and adjusted to fit into the surroundings. The surroundings then need to be adjusted to fit around the new model.
Accurate Visual Representation (AVRs) are a form of computer visualisation that can assist in the assessment of the visual effects of specific proposals on designated views. an AVR is a tool in the planning process that helps to inform the effect of a proposal by providing three dimensional visualisations of it. These images can be very realistic and should be accurate with respect to height, form, size and location.
By accurately combining an image of a proposed development with a representation of its existing context, all AVRs / verified views explain the location and massing of a proposed development. They may also illustrate additional properties including the degree of visibility, architectural form or choice of materials selected. In their most sophisticated form they give a very useful impression of how a completed development would look in its environment under specific lighting and weather conditions.
