Lumion 8 trials
Last week were lucky enough to be allowed to trial a copy of Lumion 8, we have have used previous version of the software and have found it to be useful for exterior animations but the lighting and materials have always let it down when moving ‘interior’. It’s an expensive piece of software so we were reluctant to ‘upgrade’ again if we were not going to be able to utilise it in the majority of our projects.
We are so glad we did! The jump in render output quality has been immense.
We tested three different projects in the scene, a large exterior resort project – all about the vegetation, a contemporary home – interior and exteriors, and a modern minimalists ‘concrete’. We didn’t have long as the trial was only a week so we had to get a much out of it as possible, what we did get out of it is testament to how easy the software is to use and start getting useful renders from. It might not be as flexible as the likes of Vray or Corona but many users don’t not all those options.
